Talithia did not smile, only give a small nod, but happiness and a challenging tint entered her eyes as she gave the signal for Zaaka to turn around. The black dragon roared with delight and spun around racing as fast as he could towards the slowly approaching urgals. Talithia drew her sword Zar'ngna. It was a long blade that was the deepest of black. It had a silver hilt in the shape of dragons tails and the end of one of them curled a third of the way down the blade. On the end of this symbol a small black ruin was carved and in the pommel glittered a large red ruby.

Kyandiyen sped after Zaaka, baring his teeth and spouting flames. With a sharp hiss Redas drew Edoc'sil, the golden blade glinting in the sun. His rume ingisnia, which stood for bravery, shimmered momentarily. He calmly lowered it so the blade was flat to his face, then did a practise thrust. He pulled out of the manuever as the first sight of the Urgals came.

Krashnak howled as the Urgals sped over the ridge. He could no longer see the dragons, but could hear their wing beats, which still sounded distant (but secretly are not, they're just high in the sky). "Get ready to attack!"he screamed, and was met head on by the howls of his followers. Suddenly, a golden dragon swooped out of the clouds, roaring a deafening war cry. The rider upon his back was yelling as well. Sun glinted off a sharp object in his hands as he dove at the center of the army. The Urgals were disoriented and confused. Krashnak was so himself. He skidded to a stop and whirled. "Archers!"he commannded. A shaft of arrows sped towards the dragon just as another appeared. His rider halted the arrows and with the flick of her palm sent them back into their owner's chests. The fallen Urgal's horses whinnied fearfully and bolted. Krashnak beared his teeth. He roared and charged foward into the golden dragon. His horse leaped over a sweeping claw and over the crouched dragon's back. With a heavy club, Krashnak knocked the rider in the temple, rendering him unconious.

Talithia saw Redas get hit and rolled her eyes Already? She thought in exasperation
He's probably more used to running away Zaaka observed
Unfortunately for those urgals, we are not Talithia loosed a savage war cry and Zaaka dove down among the urgals. His jaws sank into the flesh of any urgal he could reach while his claws sliced at them. Talithia drove Zar'ngna into any urgal she could reach and used magic to snap the necks of others. She glanced back and saw Redas unconcious still. Rolling her eyes again, she told Zaaka to go back. The black dragon swerved back and hovered next to Kyandiyen. The elf lept lightly off of Zaaka onto the other dragon. She grabbed the other riders sword to make sure he didnt drop it and lay her hand on his head. With a few muttered words, her palm began glowing as she murmured a spell that woulfd revive Redas.

(oh geez redas IS really suckish at the moment, huh?) Redas came to quickly. He realized the battle around him and leapt to his feet. Argh! I can't believe I was knocked out! Some warrior I am. I feel so stupid at the moment. Redas thought to his dragon, embarrasment burning along their mental link. Ha. I guess you are quite the warrior. Don't you know all warriors are knocked out in the first moments of battle. The dragon laughed. Gee, you make me feel better. Redas retorted. (sorry the colors are a little off. I didn't bother fixing them to the exact) He leapt onto Kyandiyen's back, nodding to Talithia, then stabbed an approaching Urgal straight through the chest. It gurgled and toppled over, it's horse whinnying. Kyandiyen launched into the air, and Redas killed a group of Urgals from the sky with magic. He threw his sword at another Urgal as he swooped down, using magic to retreive it from the dead creature's flesh. Soon there were only a small group of twenty-one Urgals left. Redas and Talithia dismounted from their dragons. They stood, a gap between them, posed for battle. With a shout from Krasknak, two Urgals charged through the gap, swinging maces. Both Redas and Talithia Turned and lunged foward, but the Urgals tricked them and leapt out of the way. Redas found himself pressed up against Talithia.

Talithia frowned and did a backflip away from Redas so she landed behind an urgal and she drove her black sword through his back. She slashed at an oncoming urgal and sliced off his head and used magic to snap anothers neck. Zaaka roared on the edge of the battle and Talithia jumped out of the way as he shot a stream of electric blue flame out of his mouth, burning several of the urgals in its path. Tali's eyes were alight with with the brightness of battle and she glanced up proudly at her blade which was stained with crimson blood.

Redas was silent as he butchered the other Urgals. He was very embarrassed. Kyandiyen was silent as well. _____ Krashnak watched his army be killed. He snarled and retreated. He knew better than to fight two riders alone.

Zaaka let out a loud roar of victory and Talithia responded with her own battle cry. She ran back over to Zaaka and climbed nimbly back into his saddle.
"That was fun" she nearly laughed, and there was a small but rare smile on her lips as she patted Zaaka on the shoulder.
It's been a while since I was able to incinerate something Zaaka thought, his eyes glowing too. Talithia then turned to Redas and Kyandiyen
"Just out of curiosity" she called to them "When was the last time you were actually in a proper battle?"

Kyandiyen grunted and nudged Redas with one wingtip. Redas was silent for a moment, then then spoke. "Well, Kyandiyen and I haven't really been in many battles. That was our first major one in many years." Kyandiyen roared and nodded. " Talithia? This wasn't a good first impression for us. I'm not the moat skilled rider in the world, and you're pretty fierce. I was wondering if, maybe, Kyandiyen and I could leave our desert home to travel Alagasia with you and Zaaka. It would be good training for us, and I've never been in the Empire or Du Weldenvarden. So, what do you think?"

Zaaka snorted at the first comment, shooting a small jet of blue flames from his mouth and incinerated an urgal corpse. Talithia silenced him with a look. At the question of travelling, Zaaka mentally roared his disapproval in his head, both he and Talithia were loners in their own way, and they were not used to company, which is why they didn't live in the heart of Ellesmera. Tali was thinking the smae thing, but the rational part of her brain was telling her that if it came to war with the empire, then all riders would need to be fully trained. And she hadn't been in a sword-fight with another rider since her master had been murdered 80 years before.
"Maybe" The elf murmured eventually "I'll have to see. I'll give you my answer as soon as I have decided"

Redas nodded. He walked over to Kyandiyen and patted his shoulder. Hmm, I wonder what she'll say. murmurred the dragon telepathically. I think she will agree. She seems lonely, and I DO need training. But maybe she likes being alone, and maybe she doesn't car about your training. Kyandiyen pointed out. Maybe. We'll see...
